iron heads

From an artistic standpoint, this is where much of my human form reference comes from. After years in the gym training myself, as well as always being around physiques that are so highly developed comes the mental cache of images to draw from. There really are superheroes out there, in real life!

John Houston

John and I have been great friends for over 14 years. We worked together at a bowling alley/fitness center way back, and since then I watched him expand to superhuman proportions. A personal trainer for many years, John now is focused on becoming a full-time firefighter. A great all around guy, always joking and making everyone laugh with his antics.

Tommy Ferrentino

What can I say about this guy? Bodybuilding Champ, psycho wrestler, business man, professional dog breeder, father of three daughters, motorcycle buff, ageless friend. Tommy owns the BEST gym in Tucson, World Gym, three time winner of the coveted "Most Improved" title. Tom has been a great friend for 10 years, thanks Tom for ALL your help! (And the awesome Harley cruises!)

Jimmy Lusko,
Vinny Comerford, Tommy

When I met Vinny, I laughed out loud because it was like seeing a cartoon character in real life! This guy was 5'-3" and 220lbs! We watched him train and he was like a hydraulic machine, slow and precise. What a trip. Vinny was in the IFBB for some time and then was with the WBF for a stint. He stood in front of a mural I had painted of him on Tom's gym. A very cool experience.

Mark Blunk

Mark is the highest on my "give thanks to list." Even though I must've irritated the hell out of Mark, he always encouraged me and always put in a good word for me. Mark gave me my first real art job, which was drawing some mural type work on the walls of his gym. I guess he must've really had faith in me back then, because man did they ever suck! I must have done 10-15 projects for him, and actually progressed pretty quick, but I had no idea what I was doing in the beginning. But the work I did caught the eyes of a few other people, and soon I was pretty busy. THANKS MARK!! God bless you man.

Cheri Johnson

Cheri was the best training partner ever, period. She was a plate movin' forced reppin' good clean spottin' -- you get the idea. She was a riot in the gym or at the club, always positive and full of life.
